Clark Construction of Ridgefield, Inc. is committed to giving back to the communities in which we have worked for over 24 years.
We give back with our time, such as when we participated to help build a new home for EJ Carfi as well as giving financially to local charitable organizations. We are proud to be a Silver Sponser for the Ridgefield Playhouse. We partner with the Housatonic Habitat for Humanity to provide surplus building materials and softly used cabinets, fixtures from clients' projects for their ReStore.
In addition to our tradition of participating in service projects, and financially supporting local charities, we have developed a program to "give back" for each of our projects.
As our way of saying thanks, we make a $50 donation, in your name, to the local organization you select from the list below upon completion of the Client Feedback Survey *
Ridgefield Playhouse
Designed in 1938, the auditorium in "the old high school" (now the Richard E. Venus Municipal Center) was at one time the center of Ridgefield's cultural life. In its heyday, before being abandoned in 1972, it was home to school performances as well as community events and town meetings. During World War II, residents had the privilege of twice hearing the legendary Arturo Toscanini conduct here.
In its new life, The Ridgefield Playhouse attracts people from all over the tri-state area. Through contributions and donations they are able to host 8 to 10 shows a month offering something for everyone: blues, country, rock, jazz, comedy, improve, family theater, children’s shows, Shakespeare and opera. There’s a women’s “health and wellness” program and a National Endowment for the Arts reading program. Additionally, The Playhouse is open 7 days a week – playing movies on non-show nights. Your support helps keep this all going.
Trackside Teen Center of Wilton
The Trackside Teen Center acts as a hub within the teen community - designed by teens and for teens. Trackside supports Wilton teens by providing them a place within the community, other than home and school, where they can be involved in healthy socialization and gain experience in participating as a citizen in a productive manner. They have open hours, afterschool activities and weekend events.
While the Town of Wilton covers a portion of staffing costs, Trackside must raise money to fund the balance of these costs as well as fund 100% of annual operating expenses, regular maintenance, facility upgrades and programming designed to reach out and appeal to a broad cross-section of teenagers.
Turn the Corner: The Fight Against Lyme Disease
Turn the Corner is a leader in fundraising, education and awareness for Lyme and tick-borne diseases, a major illness in our New England towns. Each year, individuals with Lyme disease and tick-borne diseases, their families and friends connect with Turn the Corner Foundation in the fight against Lyme.
Community events and activities raise awareness about Lyme disease and raise money for research and education. Activities range from “Walks to Turn the Corner on Lyme”, to an Annual Unmask a Cure Gala, to symposiums and movie screenings. Your support helps them continue their educational outreach and donations towards research.
Ridgefield Operation for Animal Rescue R.O.A.R.
This shelter for cats and dogs was opened in 2005 with one goal. Through the generous help of volunteers every cat and dog receives the same medical care, nutrition, exercise and attention you would bestow upon your family pets.
They have rescued and placed over 2,000 animals since opening their doors. Your support helps them continue their outreach work within the community.
Appalachia Service Project
Each year more than 100 people from Ridgefield and the surrounding area travel into the hills of Virginia, West Virginia, Tennessee and Kentucky, with the Appalachia Service Project, through Jesse Lee Church.
Appalachia Service Projects does home repair for low income families in Appalachia. They work to make homes warmer, safer, and drier. This isn’t just a fresh coat of paint and some yard work; they build foundations, replace roofs, and add on rooms for those in need. Your support helps them purchase needed materials and supplies.
Habitat for Humanity:
Housatonic Chapter
Through volunteer labor and donations of money and materials, this local chapter of Habitat for Humanity builds and rehabilitates simple, decent houses alongside homeowner (partner) families in the Greater Danbury area.
Your support enables them to purchase materials, and hire the construction supervisors who train volunteers, keep them safe, and organize the building work. In addition to building homes alongside the new homeowners, Habitat helps these families break the cycle of poverty and build long term financial security. They do this by providing affordable, no-profit house payments for these families which frees up money for food, child care, medicine and other necessities.
*Note: A smaller donation will be made for Client Feedback Forms completed for small jobs and “Work Order” projects.
