While this "builder's special" kitchen was a good size and had a functional layout, it had dated, short wood cabinets, dark counters and an oversized hood.
Fixtures were to remain in the same location and a white kitchen was at the top of the request list.
Kitchen is transformed with stacked cabinets going to the ceiling and a complimenting molding. Grabill White Peony Cheshire inset cabinets are the star of the show.
It's lighter, brighter and the ceiling feels taller!
The island cabinets are Grabill's Shadow, a bluish grey, and the hutch counter is walnut butcher block.
This harmonious balance of colors and materials precludes the kitchen from being "too white'.
Thoughtful design details make a difference.
For example, the cabinet to the left of the window was built as a triple door cabinet to avoid any styles between the doors.
A more appropriately sized hood was chosen.
Stacked inset cabinets provide extra storage and clean lines.
"We have now completed three projects over the past five years with Clark Construction, and I have only wonderful things to say about them. Each project went extremely smoothly, from the design process to the beautiful finished products. Everyone at Clark is helpful, considerate and talented at what they do, and all of their subs are professional, neat and wonderfully talented. I can't recommend them highly enough!"
